MR. HUONG Nontarak

Researcher

Mr. Nontarak has an educational background in agricultural sciences, with more specilisation and hands-on experiences on integrated pest managements.  He earned a bachelor’s degree in Agronomy at the Royal University of Agriculture where he worked as a research assistant at the Department of Research and Extension after his undergraduate completion.  As an assistant, he engaged directly in various research projects that are relevant to sustainable pest management strategies and took charge of laboratory instructions to undergraduate students. As a Country Coordinator at the Regional Integrated Multi-Hazard Early Warning System for Africa and Asia (RIMES), Nontarak played a crucial role in coordinating and implementing several projects on climate mitigations and technology adoptions for rice production in Cambodia. Prior to joining CPS, Nontarak successfully completed a Master of Science in Agro- and Environmental Nematology from Ghent University, under the scholarship of the Flemish Government, where he deepened his technical knowledge and skills in sustainable agriculture. During his MSc, he conducted his internships in Kenya and Germany where he explored and learned more about the roles of biological control agents in sustainable food productions.
